Fire Moon
Written by Deborah Ruth Dickson
sometime before 2008
Why do you cry?
Looking down upon this
warm winter night
You cover your shine with the wisps of clouds
that surround you
You hide your face from the night life
That's around you
Oh, weeping fire moon
Must you weep now?
Oh weeping fire moon
Still, now you cry.
Looking out across the
dawning twilight
As you rest your sweet head on the trees
lay to sleep in peace now
knowing that God sends His Son
Shining on everyone now
Oh, weeping fire moon,
why weepest thou?
I'll find a moon shot soon... |
why do you cry?
looking down upon this
warm winter night
As you rest your head on the clouds
Set with the peace that God will win
Although the wait seems long now
enveloped in the night in this world full of sin
(music interlude ideally)
Oh weeping fire moon
I know why you cry,
trying to reflect the Sun
in the still of the night
I, like you, wonder sometimes
am I shining at all?
I, like you ask if I light up the night when I call
Oh, when I call
in this great
wilderness
I wonder...
When will God's children
have rest?
Oh weeping fire moon

Rose Colored (Isa. 49)
Written by Deborah Ruth Dickson
7/31/12
Chorus
And I will keep my
Rose-colored picture of you
My Love
And I will keep my
Rose-colored picture of you
Because
Because My Blood
Because My Blood
Covers up
V1.
And I walked away
Tattered and bruised by the fight
I… I…
I said I’d stay here
Just because something ain’t right
I…I…
There’s fixin’ ta do and
You’ve given me hands
I can use
You, You
I’ve nothin’ ta hide
Nothin ta lose nor ta prove
To prove
Because I love
Because I love
Lovin’ Truth
(repeat chor)
V2.
When I sat in shame (chains)
The morning doves sang me a song
Awe, awe
And I read Isaiah
You told me I was not forgot
No, not.
Told me You would restore
The empty
The lost child in me
Ee, ee
“cause you are worth more
More than much
Sparrows to Me
To Me.
Because I love
Because I love
Lovin you”
(repeat chor)
V3.
And I left my mark
Deep on you, left it,
Engraved
I gave
I came here to start…
What you came here
To tear down
I saved
I saved
Because My Blood
Because My Blood
Reconstructs
LL
Come put your hands
Through my hands and
My feet and my side
Don’t hide
Because my love
Because for you
I have died.

To Him Be the Glory Forever and Ever (Yea, tho I walk)
Written by Deborah Ruth Dickson
7/20/08
V1.
Oh Lord my Shepherd I shall not
Want nothing more,
nothing less
You bless me to lie in green pastures
And lead me by the still waters of rest
You restoreth my soul in the evening
And lead me down righteous paths for Your Name
So whom shall we fear? God is with us!
Tell me of whom we dare be afraid!
Chor1.
And yea- tho I walk
Through the valley
And yea – tho the
Darkness surrounds
Greater is He who is in me
(yes) Greater is Jesus, I’ve found
V2.
Oh Lord, Your rod’s still a comfort
You keep Your true sheep to the fold
Please make us to rise to be one voice
Cause it’s long overdue to be bold
Countless are tables before me
In the presence of my enemies everyday
And countless my head You’ve anointed
My cup runneth over
You’ve never failed me
Chor2.
Yea tho I walk through this valley
I will not stumble around
The strength from my Savior sustains me
Cause the blood of Lord Jesus abounds
And yea tho the darkness may find me
In this late time that wicked must hound
I will fear no evil before me
Cause the blood of Lord Jesus abounds
V3.
So Lord, I will fight this good fight
So what if they swallow me whole?
The God Who delivers from lions, and
Fires, and flood
Owns my soul
(repeat Chor2)
V4
So surely Your goodness and mercy
Will follow me all of my days
And in Your House, Lord
I will dwell forever
But until then,
Daily I’ll give all my praise!
(repear Chors)
LL
And in the blood of Lord Jesus – I’m found
Because the blood of Lord Jesus still abounds

Just My Luck
Written by Deborah R. Dickson 2/6/03
V1
Jeremiah 51:37
Jeremiah 52:34
There in I found a four leaf clover
With no word on what it’s for
Chor.
If I had left a note of somethin’
Or if I had simply wrote myself
A scribble to mark the date thereof,
I’d remember
And I could show it to the world
V2
Now was that old clover
Luck for my singin’?
Or was that old clover
Meant for the plays?
Or am I s’posed ta’
Be a lawyer
Or should I sell things
For all of my days?
(repeat chor)
V3
What if I’m just goin’ ta’ Heaven,
What if I’m not
doin’ much more?
Then would my life be like that clover
With no word on what I’m for
(chor 3.)
But Someone has left a note of somethin’
And Someone has simply wrote it to us
A Bible to tell the story of Love
So we remember
And we can show it to the world
(repeat V1)
(Repeat Chor. 1)
Last Line
Now I remember
And I can show it to the world
Yes, I remember
And I’m to show it to the world

Who Made You (I Needed a Love Song)
Written by Deborah R. Dickson 9/1/03
V1
I needed a love song
To describe what it felt like on
September first
And I needed a love song
To capture the aroma that was
There
Love was in the air
Love was there
I followed a leaf
Who told me a life story of
His big dreams
I walked under trees
Borne down by the
Water that had
fallen heavily
And I began to see
There was more than me
Chor.
‘Cause there’s a beauty that I see
In rainin’ leaves and fallin’ trees
And Who made you and
Who made me?
Does not He look after the sea
of faces?…
And hearts in places
Where they don’t belong.
V2
I breathed in the wetness
And it took me back to years I
never ponder of
I felt in the silence
The long lasting and forever signs of
Gracious Love
It’s what keeps this trust
God’s Love made us
(repeat Chor.)
V3
And I needed a love song
To write you what I felt like on
September first
You may not see in the love song
The autumn breeze
That solemnly
Holds back my words
The acorns that
Drown out my hurt
‘Cause each season more you live
Without God’s Truth inside
And by each falling leaf
You swear
For you
Christ never died
And in my heart I cry
For you
Chor. 2
‘Cause there’s a beauty that I see
In rainin’ leaves and fallin’ trees
And God made you and
God made me
Does not He looks after the sea
Of faces
Of hearts in places
Where they don’t belong?
(repeat Chor. 2)
Last Line
Your heart’s in places
Where it don’t belong
You’re lost in places
Where ya’ don’t belong
And I needed
A love song…

Nineveh
Written by Deborah R. Dickson 7/29/04
Chor.
I wanna go to Nineveh
I wanna go
I wanna go
I wanna go to Nineveh
And take some camels
Through the eye of needle
I wanna go to Nineveh
I wanna go
I wanna go
V1.
Many things impossible
Many people. Many Souls.
Many things don’t seem plausible
But who knows. Only God knows.
I’m prayin’for a Hollywood
I’m prayin’ for a wayward America
I’m prayin’ for what we could be
I’m prayin’ for SomeOne to take care of us
(Repeat Chor.)
V2.
Many things unkeepable
Many treasures, many possessions
Many things seem unattainable
But there’s Truth, there’s a Blessing
I’m prayin’ for a miracle
I’m prayin’ for a wayward America
I’m prayin’ for the Golden Rule
I’m prayin’ for it to take over us
(Repeat Chor.)
Bridge
This is all I’ve gotta say
This is all I’ve got to point out
God can heal in many ways
And God can turn those hearts around
(Repeat Chor.)

Cold Night in Kansas City
Written by Deborah R. Dickson 04/04/12
(Would be a duet piece with a Lee Ann Womack type voice and a male)
It’s a cold night in Kansas City
Can I have just one last goodbye?
V1
Isn’t it just too bad
That my love must end for you?
Isn’t is just too bad
Though we both possess the Truth?
You and your only heart
You must be on your own
Me and my lonely mind
This solitude is my home
Chor.
And it’s a cold night in Kansas City
Can I have
Just one last
Goodbye?
It’s a cold night in Kansas City
Can I have
Just one last
Goodbye?
V2
Isn’t it what I need?
To shield my heart from pain
Isn’t it what I need?
To walk away again
This is all I can see
I must forget you now
You are so far from me
I must stop love, I’m asking; How?
‘Cause (repeat Chor. 1)
Bridge
Now I won’t cry forever
But this is something
That I feel
And why must I surrender (remember)
Love to me
That once
Was real?
Chor. 3
And it’s a cold night in Kansas City
Can’t I have
Just one last
Goodbye?
It’s a cold night in Kansas City
Can’t I have
Just one last
Why can’t I have just one last…
Can’t I have just one kiss…
Can’t I have just one last…
Goodbye.
